I remember the days (boy do I sound OLD!) when I could roam the stores/malls for hours with nothing particular in mind and come home with bags of items. For the past six years or so (long before Covid), somehow I changed and only go to the store with a list or when something needed immediately. Mostly, I run to Walgreens or CVS on Saturday mornings get what I want and get out. I don't know if it was time, money or other stressors that played parts, but I guess the thrill is gone! Since I did not run errands on the way home this past week I decided to head out yesterday for fun shopping. I wandered two stores and did pick up some items on a whim. Although I did wander every aisle in both stores, I kept thinking "don't need this" or "too much money" or "what's the point". I thought about going to another store, but went home instead. Neither store was particularly crowded so it was not rude people. Guess with all the online shopping I've been doing for several years now, I've lost my mojo for in-person shopping. How about you?
I had dinner with friends the other evening and it was so nice. We went to a restaurant I have not been to in a while and the food, wine, and service were excellent.
Work was busy this past week as my client is not back in her home yet. The initial workers finished their part of the clean up so now we wait for the next step. My client was relieved in so many ways to know officially she is not financially responsible for any part of the mess. We have not let her back into the condo (even the workers suggested she stay away as long as there are holes in the ceiling). I go back/forth to pick up items or clean out a bit. I think my client and her neighbor are enjoying being temporary roommates. The fun part of my job is I get to play with two dogs instead of one (picture posted on my personal FB page).
This past week I finished reading: "L.A. WEATHER" by Maria Amparo Escandon (Reese's Book Club) - a novel about family, culture and weather. "SAY NO MORE" by Hank Phillippi Ryan (Jane Ryland Series) - murder/mayhem in my hometown.
