It was a busy week for me as I had appointments and my 14th treatment to get myself back into reality. My joint issues go up and down as the weather changes. Some days I can open a bottle of water and some days I can't. Some days I can bend my fingers and some days I can't. I can say it is taking me much longer to accomplish things such as making the bed, getting dressed or even walking to the end of the driveway. I just keep going as I know there are others who are fighting their own battles.
I was a bit sad as I saw two members of my care team for the last time as they move on to greener pastures. My PT person accepted a position closer to his home and this will help with his work/life balance. My dermatologist will move to a private practice where she can focus on skin cancer only (her specialty) and also closer to home. I don't blame either one of them, but at the same time, change is hard.
I went to visit my former client yesterday and bring her a few gifts from my travels. She was thrilled with the trinkets and excited that I brought her favorite cookies. I don't think I mentioned previously that her dog crossed the rainbow bridge while I was away. She messaged me while I was away with the details and I was heartbroken for her. She had her since she was a puppy and they helped each other tremendously. The dog had a tumor that had already spread too far when discovered. It was weird when I visited yesterday to not have white fur everywhere. My client is doing well and was dogsitting for a neighbor whom I know well, so I still got to give and receive some dog love.
This past week I finished reading: "SPYMISTRESS" by William Stevenson - its the true story of the greatest female secret agent of World War II. Very good book - written as history not a novel so it could be a bit dry. "THE BOOK SPY" by Alan Hlad - historical novel about an American Librarian and Portuguese bookseller during World War II. A good novel - easy read.
