My work week went well. Both clients kept me busy and actually let me do some chores. Still not a fan of grocery shopping, but I do what needs to be done. Of course, it helps that I felt much better than the week before and my BP is back to normal.
The week was highly emotional for me as I watched coverage of the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Perhaps I watched too much, yet it felt like it was the right thing to do. I have so many memories of that day. I always find it fascinating how I can remember so much detail of that day. I know it's because the shock, tragedy and trauma are seared into my brain. Although I was not touched personally by the tragedy, the impact of how our world changed touched all of us and still does. May the spirit of those who died continue to guide their families and friends. I will Never Forget!
We went to closing/settlement this past week for the selling of our Myrtle Beach condo. I swear I will never understand why everything/everyone in the process waits until the last 48 hours before getting things done. Then, its causes anxiety because many things are not in order. All I know is that I will never use or recommend the two attorneys involved they completely messed up all paperwork and then expected us to just cross through items/fix them and then sign the documents. You know me, needs to be done right, so I pushed back and made them redo the paperwork. I'm not talking little errors, started out with the salutation being addressed to my parents, had names spelled incorrectly, incorrect mortgage company for payoff listed, missing 1099 information, etc. Well, most of you know me, I almost went through the ceiling, but maintained for professionalism as I wrote a 7 point email back the first time. They blamed the software and actually responded with just fix and sign. Again, I barely maintained my professionalism and responded that I refused to sign incorrect legal documents. Well, believe it or not they got the paperwork fixed in time for closing. It's amazing how fast people can work when pushed. It got to the point where even our real estate agent said he removed that company from his referrals list. But now it's done and all I can say is phew! One less thing to worry about.
This past week I finished reading: "GREAT CIRCLE" by Maggie Shipstead (Read With Jenna selection) - it was a hard read for me and I don't know why, seemed to take forever to come together. "NORTHERN SPY" by Flynn Berry (Reese's book club selection) - tale of espionage and family based in Ireland. Well written and moves along quickly. I watched quite a bit of the 9/11 Anniversary coverage - lots of memories. I also watched: "Bitchin': The Sounds and Fury of Rick James" (2021) - interesting.
