Overall, it was a busy week. Papa had some doctor's appointments and the reports were very good. He did give us a scare on Monday with almost passing out, but it turns out he was dehydrated more than anything. He worries so much about mema that he forgets to take care of himself. Luckily, his driver was with him and knew immediately what to do and how to care for him until I arrived. Nothing like a scare on a Monday to get the week rolling.
Mema had a good week. As I mentioned last week she has been pretty stable for a while now although sleeping quite a bit. It's to be expected and I am glad she seems to be resting peacefully. It's difficult for me when she says I don't know your name, but when I say it and that I'm her daughter she says I know that! I don't get upset and go with the flow. Sometimes she lets me put my head on her shoulder for a few minutes and we just sit. I put music on most afternoons and she taps her foot and just relaxes. When she's out and about she's like a nosy rosy as her head turns about and her eyes are watching everything. I definitely know where my observation skills came from.
I've been sort of planning a trip for a few weeks. For me, it's a little work as I want to be sure papa is ok and he worries that no one will be visiting mema. I think I have that all covered, but they will be in the back of my mind all week. I am heading out on a road trip Monday to Maine with my niece Melanie. I've only made reservations in one place - Bar Harbor and arranged a tour. Other than that we are on our own for a few days exploring and stopping/staying where we want. As my niece said to me the other day, you know when we spend more than a few days together we get on each other's nerves. I said yes, so this will be a time for patience for both of us! I look forward to creating some special memories for both of us. I'll more than likely post some pics on FB during the week.
This week I finished reading "DARK PLACES" by Gillian Flynn. I had a hard time with this book as it is in some ways very depressing. I love murder and mayhem and this was very twisted. James Patterson has come out with BookShots which are short stories that can be read in a couple of hours. I've read a couple of them this week. Not sure what next week will bring, but since I always carry books we'll see how it goes. Are you reading anything fun over the summer?
I am going to leave it here for today. I hope you have a wonderful week and enjoy some summer time. Take care. Chat soon. Marie
