My mom was restless so after settling her down, I am not able to go back to sleep. Now she's snoring and relaxed, Lady is out cold on her bed and I'm in the living room, writing/gathering thoughts by the light of the lap top and salt lamp. I had a few hours of sound sleep which is all I need. I try really hard not to look at the clock when I wake up during the night because over the years I learned that once I looked at the clock that was it for the night. Not sure why, but I've always been that way. Sometimes I can go back to sleep, but mostly I think, well that's it time to get up. When I'm done with this blog, I might lay down for a nap on the couch.
Well, it's Thanksgiving week - are you ready for the beginning of the holiday craziness? Are you preparing all of your favorite dishes and gathering together? I know I have written about it previously, but I miss hosting "Friendsgiving." For several years those that could not be with family gathered together and those that had to work were brought a nice homemade meal. I loved the cooking and preparation and the eating and laughing we had together. Some of you that read this blog were participants or recipients of those days. It was a long day, but one filled with love and in some cases a little wine...LOL! We did it long before it was a popular thing. One day in the future I am going to host a gathering like that again. This year our gathering will be on Saturday and I'm looking forward to cooking and being with family and my BFF. So much to be thankful for and I hope to take a moment to express those thoughts. I hope you have the opportunity to express your thoughts as well. .
I saw pictures on FB of the Plymouth Thanksgiving parade yesterday. It was a day of events all over the center of town. The weather turned out sunny and nice after we had some snow and cold earlier this week. I know some of my friends have decorated for Xmas and when it snowed I thought about pulling out some of the boxes, but I'll wait a few more days. I love the decorations as it makes everything bright and light. By the way, the snow here disappeared pretty quickly, but it was enough to make me check my winter supplies and get the shovels and ice melt in position near the door.
I did a little bit of organizing the other day when I cleaned out the pantry and one cabinet. It had gotten to the point where I knew I had bought items and could not find them at all. I got the step stool out to reach to the back of the shelves and got rid of a few expired items and organized the rest. You think that would have given me the incentive to keep moving to the next cabinet, but it did not..LOL! I got interrupted and then distracted. Oh well, I'll get back to it one of these days.l.maybe after the holidays!
I am a sucker for the Xmas movie season. Yesterday, after catching up with TV shows from the past week, I watched three movies in a row. Talk about the tears flowing - perhaps that's why I watch it provides a perfect excuse to shed a few tears. I know the basic plot is almost always the same and the ending will work out, but I watch the whole movie any way. I think I like the love, joy and hope that always appear. Don't get me wrong, I like my dramas and crime shows, but I'm just a heaping sap when it comes to Xmas movies. What about you?
I fell behind in my reading this week, but hope to catch up over the next few days. How about you?

Thank you to those that have sent me Thanksgiving cards - it's been a few years since I sent out any cards, but so appreciate receiving them. One day I'll get back on the wagon so to speak. Most of the time I use this blog or FB to keep in touch these days. I used to joke that I kept the post office in business because I sent out so many cards every year for almost every holiday. Now I keep the post office in business by ordering from Amazon (quite a bit)...LOL!
I had an awesome meditation this past week - have had to miss it a couple of weeks. I felt so much energy shift.
Happy early birthday to my nephew Shamus and my dear friend Melanie...hope your day is filled with love and laughter.
I am grateful and thankful to all of my readers and followers. I have been at this a long time and I have learned so much from you. I am much better at writing than I am at speaking about emotions and problems and I always hope to pass along what I learned from a situation or others. Thank you for being you and part of my journey!
I am leaving it here for today. It's 5:16 am and I'm either heading to the shower or making coffee...perhaps reverse the order. I hope you have a good week and may you be stuffed with the love of family/friends as well as food. Take care. Chat soon. Marie
