As you can probably figure out I'm back in Virginia this week. Been busy trying to get appointments done and business taken care of over the past few days. I must admit I was really tired for the first couple of days. I was able to get a few Jazzercise classes in and they felt really good. I am making some changes as I cancelled my gym membership this past week. I can use it until the end of the month, but I have to admit I don't really care whether or not I use it. I was not enjoying my workouts as much as I have in the past and I had some issues with my hands so the doctor said not to use weights for a few weeks. Well, I'm still having problems and I have not used weights in over a month. Time to see the doctor again - I think I need a shot or two. I am thinking of reaching out to a personal trainer to see if I can work this into the budget to keep me focused. What about you? How are you keeping exercise in your life?
I was able to get my eyes checked this past week - ordered some new glasses! I also got a flu shot. I do not think I have ever received a flu shot this early in the season. In the past, I always got one at work and it was usually November. When I walked into the health care facility the other day they had a free flu clinic so I jumped right in. When I was home I made sure my dad's shots were up-to-date so I guess it was time to take care of mine. Don't forget to get a flu shot!
I was able to catch up with a few people this past week. I really cherish my time catching up with friends - especially those I do not see all the time. I don't know about you, but the time with them seems much more valuable to me as I get older. The stories, tears and laughter shared is so much more meaningful to me. When I'm in Plymouth, I am so focused on my parents that I spend little time having fun with others - every once in a while I have lunch/dinner with a dear friend, but I miss catching up with others. Perhaps this is why I so value the time I spend in Virginia catching up with others. Friends to me are a valued lifeline. How do you catch up with friends? Are you around people that can make you laugh?
A few of my BFF's sisters are visiting and they keep the house lively. Last night we played a board game and we laughed and laughed. To be honest, I can't remember the last time I played a board game and laughed so much at one time. How about you?
I have been feeling my age a bit this past week as my youngest nephew started high school! Where did the years go? He'll do great once he gets settled in. He's thinking about track and field - with his long legs he should be great. So hard to believe how fast the years have flown by. His sister is a sophomore and his oldest brother is in the Army.
I am going to leave it here for today. Nothing earth shattering in my writing today. I am still absorbing so many senseless murders that have happened over the past few weeks. There are so many people that do not appreciate life and those that live it. I can't say much more than that at this time. I hope you have a wonderful week. Take care. Chat soon. Marie
