My week was fairly quiet with a little bit of paperwork thrown in now and then. I do not have an agenda most days. I have started to review/clean/organize a bit and in order to make it easier on me, I decided one drawer at a time until it is empty. So if it takes a few hours or a day or two that's all I focus on. It is so interesting to find what my parents (believe me when I saw it was both of them) kept. I posted on my personal FB page a couple of pics of items along with what I remember about them. Some items I contemplate over why it was kept, but nonetheless, I'm learning little things about my family. Part of the process is determining what to do with the items. What to throw away (old cards (my dad was quite the romantic), lots of film negatives, broken items, etc.) and what to give away (most of the costume jewelry goes to my BFF for selling via the curio sale at the senior center - raises money for programs). What to have appraised or research for value. One of the questions I ask myself when looking at the items is: Will the next generation even care? It does make it a bit easier to do this when I'm not under a time crunch...so if I feel a bit overwhelmed I can stop, take a break and go back to it again.
Last week I mentioned that I had 22 messages on the answering machine...LOL!!! Well, I did not listen to them until Thursday and the majority were blank or robocalls. A couple were neighbors checking in before I got back. Not too bad for being gone.
I got to my favorite coffee shop. I can't believe I finally used a gift card I have had for a quite while. The owner, Amanda, was not there, but it was good to grab good iced coffee and a sandwich to go. Some of the kitchen staff were still there so it was good to see them.
Lady was groomed this past week and she did very well in the car. I was surprised that she settled right down and only barked once as I turned into the groomer parking lot and of course as well drove down our street. Perhaps the long car ride helped her out a bit.
Had a wonderful afternoon/evening yesterday with my sister and niece. It's been a while since we spent time together relaxing, talking, and laughing. We tried a newer restaurant in the area and it was wonderful. We had dessert at home (you know me lots of ice cream in the freezer). It's the time of year when you pick places to visit in Plymouth based on parking and tourists...LOL!!!
I thought I would update you ....I have not heard back from Sr. Louise, but you never know what the week will bring.
Also, the cardinals and bluejays have been flying around the house all week or following Lady and I on our walk. Symbols and signs...symbols and signs. Every morning a big bluejay sits on the bush outside the living room window until I look over and nod my head. Two days this week a cardinal almost bopped me off the head - does that mean the angels are mad at me or just trying to get me out of my head...LOL!! All I know is I definitely stop and smile.
I am going to leave it here for today. Time to make some breakfast. I hope you have a wonderful week. Hopefully spring has sprung where you are. Take care. Chat soon. Marie
