I was reading History.com and they a lot of information about Labor Day. Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers and is traditionally observed on the first Monday in September. It was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century and became a federal holiday in 1894. Here is a link if you want to read more: www.history.com/topics/holidays/labor-day-1#section_2
Well, this past week I used telemed with my doctor. It was interesting to say the least. She is so efficient and caring and takes her time whether in person or on video. Before the call was over I was scheduled for a mammogram (an hour later); nurse appointment for flu shot last and last of hep B series (right after mammogram); lab work and a prescription was ready for pickup. Thank goodness everything is in same facility and all safety precautions were in place. Between the call to the dr and everything else it was a hectic two hours. I have never been able to get everything done this quickly in the past, so perhaps the use of telemed type assistance will stay in place for the future.
Work went well this past week. I was off one of my normal days as the spouse was not feeling well. I worry about both of them because she is doing all she can to take care of her husband (my client) and is wearing herself thin. Many of us know how this can be. At least I was able to give her a little break on the days I was there. My client, himself, does not always understand when his spouse is not up to par - all he knows is it throws his routine out of order. He must have been a bit bored as he willingly went for walks to get out of the house for a bit on the days I was there. Hopefully, the weather will get cooler soon as he'll walk a bit more.
A couple of friends posted on FB about masks, and I had not thought about it, so thought I would pass it on. I wear disposable masks and when done throw them in trash. It's a good idea to cut the ear straps before disposing as animals are getting caught in them. I remember learning to do this with the plastic rings, but had not thought about it with the masks. Great reminder!
I did not finish any books this past week, but did catch up on a few movies: Rocketman (2019); Moneyball (2011); Judy (2019); Instant Family (2018); and The Girl From Mogadishu (2019). My tastes are all over the place.
