Awesome week here as the temps went from 90 down to 70s! Windows and doors open to air out the house. Curling up in my comforter in bed. So awesome to be out of the heat of summer. Of course, we'll have a few more days of heat, but hopefully the humidity is coming to an end. I love living in an area with four seasons.
Great week with my client as we walked three times. He set a good pace and only rested for a short amount of time. I do laugh because as soon as we get home he sits in the recliner and falls into a deep nap.
My BFF and I discussed how things have changed and perhaps younger generations may not know or had the pleasure of dealing with. It started with a posting on FB about remembering your phone number from when you grew up, but can't remember a password just created. As to passwords, lets just say it seems lately I'm creating new ones more and more. I remembered most of my number, but recently found my old dog tags which had it listed. My BFF remembered her whole number. Which then led to a discussion of rabbit ear antennas for TVs and hard metal antennas on radios - each had to be set just right. I remember on some clear nights I heard radio stations from far away and wondered how that happened. Did you get up to change the TV channel? Did you type on a real manual typewriter or electric one before corrective tape? I don't know how many times I had to start over because of errors. It did help me though as keyboards went electric and I could type 99 words per minute with 1 error (which then could be deleted) - loved when I did not have to start over any longer. There are so many other things which I'm sure I'll mention as they come up. What items come to mind for you?
I've been gathering up my old linens and towels as I organize and sort my linen closet. I did not realize how thin and frayed some had gotten. I'll donate them to a local animal shelter at some point. Our local food bank put out the call for some needed items. For convenience, they tapped into technology and created "wish lists" on Amazon - such an easy way to donate to a worthy cause.
I finished reading: "THE NIGHTINGALE" by Kristin Hannah; set around World War II. Every Kristin Hannah book I read is so intense, full of depth in characters and story line, and so good.

In honor of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, below are a few of my favorite quotes:
"Fight for the things that you care about, but do so in a way that will lead others to join you."
"When contemplated in its extreme, almost any power looks dangerous."
"Don't be distracted by emotions like anger, envy, resentment. They just zap energy and waste time."
