My heart goes out to those on the West Coast impacted by fires. I can't imagine what they are going through. The firefighters on the front line are working non stop in what may seem like a never ending battle, but they keep going.
Overall, my week went very well. It was fairly quiet and uneventful and that's ok. I think we all need one of these weeks (perhaps even just a day or two) on occasion.
Work went well this past week. I worked a little extra time to help out my client's spouse, but nothing over taxing. My client walked twice (both good pace and distance) and then he would fall into a deep nap. The things his OT therapist and I do to get him going are interesting. He was almost completely cooperative and fun! His spouse told me Friday that she loves the way I handle him.
One of the lessons I learned during the past several months of the pandemic is how much I enjoy being home. I was never a person who was out and about all the time in the first place. But, unless I'm going to work, I find it difficult to get up the enthusiasm to go to a destination. I think it's because of the preparation (at least in my mind) needed beforehand. I have to think about where I'm going, how many people, is it indoor vice outdoor, does it have safety precautions in place. etc. How about you? Do you carry disinfectant of some type with you? Have it in your car? Mask ready? I know I need to do all these things to protect myself and others, but at the same time...that's when I think it's just as easy to stay home How about you?
I am trying to take advantage of my days off to cook a bit more and experiment a little with different recipes so that's a good thing. I usually put a spin on recipes to give it my own flair. Many of my meals are comfort food based so it's fun to put a spin or two on them. Most of my dishes turn out pretty well and there's enough for leftovers - not a bad thing. Do you find yourself cooking a bit more?
This past week I finished reading: "A BURNING" by Megha Majumdar (Read with Jenna selection) and "RATTLESNAKE HILL" by Leslie Wheeler. Two completely different books and genres. I also watched two Biography Documentaries: "The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne" and "I Want My MTV." Both were very interesting.
