I have seen lots of bright red cardinals and blue blue jays much of the week so I know angels are keeping watch. As I drove the other day I noticed a car pulled over, not sure why he stopped, but the next thing I saw was a fox trotting across the street with a critter in mouth. I just kept driving. I have noticed quite a few buzzards on both sides of the highway as I head to a client's house further out from where I live - they creep me out. There is a woman in Plymouth, who posts the most awesome pictures of an owl family that live in the tree outside her house. Her pictures are amazing and it almost appears as if the owls are posing. What have you noticed?
Overall, my week went well. I worked with my clients every day. Tried to keep a bit of a routine for them. In the work, it's the little victories that bring a smile to my face. Whether it's getting them to eat a complete meal at the table or wear a mask as we walk a little bit, its a sense of accomplishment.
I have not worked for a company/organization where I did not meet the boss. Yes, we have talked on the phone and emailed notes back/forth, but we have never met. I interviewed with a member of the management team and have never met any one else. It's weird for me, as I spent so many years as part of a team. And, although in many ways we are a team, it's not the same. I check in/out every day either my text message or phone call. I send progress notes and time sheets as appropriate for documentation, but that's about it. One client has another care giver and myself, so we have started leaving notes for each other so we know what's what. It's not a problem for me per se, but I can understand where some people could take advantage of situations. Thank goodness I'm so darn trustworthy!
What have you been watching on TV? I have been catching up with a few shows/series that I missed. I can honestly say I have not watched anything on Netflix, Hulu or even Amazon Prime. I spend much of my time watching HGTV, Food Network, DIY - not because I replicate any of their ideas, but just to get ideas. I love cooking competitions so Chopped, Top Chef, Spring Baking all top my list. I love Maine Cabin Masters and I'm always amazed at what they can do for the money...sometimes I think a cabin in Maine would be awesome! I enjoy some of the entertainment shows such as The Voice. For years I have watched Ru Paul's Drag Race and this season is no different - have you seen the celebrity version? Of course, for happy endings there is no place like the Hallmark channel. What are you watching?
I finished reading: "CAMP GIRLS" by Iris Krasnow - Memories and life lessons learned from attending sleep away camp. Very interesting - I never attended camp and I found it a very good read. "HOME FRONT" by Kristin Hannah. Compelling story about women, friendship, family, and war. Very well written. "BEFORE AND AFTER" by Judy Christie and Lisa Wingate. Real life stories of orphans who survived the Tennessee Children's Home Society. What a book! If you read "Before We Were Yours" you will understand this book. Many of the stories broke my heart. (Thank goodness there is no competition for completing books, my BFF has read approximately 40 - if not more - since the middle of March.)
