I'm a bit tired today, but because I have not slept well in a few days than because of the time change. Mom has been up a bit at night and I sit with her until she is comfortable again. I hold her hand, when she lets me; sing softly to her, talk with her and sometimes pray. The recliner and couch are not too bad for catching a few zzzs. Although she was not completely engaged with Chaplain Jim the other day, her toes were moving to the music.
I had a conversation with someone the other day and I mentioned my blog. She, in turn, asked me to describe a blog as she was not sure what it was. I explained that the blog is part of my website and I use it as a sort of journal, a way to keep in touch, a way to document, and a way to teach. I explained how it started oh so many years ago (thank you Lori P for the idea and push) and how in some ways it has evolved. I realized I have been writing this blog for a very long time (although the archives on the website go back to 2014, I've been at this for quite a while longer. It also made me realize how life and myself have changed over the years. I hope my blog is informative and useful to those who follow my journey. So naturally after our discussion I had to Google the meaning: "a regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style." Guess I was doing the right thing without thinking about it.
Although I believe every day is and has something to be grateful for, it appears that November is the dedicated month for thankfulness/gratefulness. I have a friend that told me, every morning of every day she wakes up and immediately writes on her wall calendar, "Thank you God." She does not want to forget to be thankful during the day so she starts off every day this way and it brings her peace no matter what happens. Awesome idea! My favorite coffee shop during the month of November has a "thankful" white pumpkin and gold pen so customers can jot something down. Another awesome idea! Do you have any traditions in your house - especially with Thanksgiving coming - that express your gratitude?
On to a fun subject. I am not a huge coupon shopper so to speak. I try to remember them when I shop and compare prices (not very good at it), but I am addicted to Bed Bath and Beyond coupons...LOL! When BB&B has K cups on sale and I have coupons...watch out world! I usually buy a couple of different kinds and come home with at least 6 boxes. Example: K cups (box of 48) runs 29.99 (or 67 cents a cup). When on sale it's normally 20% off which brings cost to 24.00. Well then I use a 20% off coupon brings cost down to about 19.00. (or 48 cents a cup). Of course I also have those $10 off if I spend more than.....and sometimes I can use more than one. A couple of weeks ago I got the cost down to 34 cents a cup. I was on a roll. Considering I drink 3 to 4 cups of coffee a day not too shabby. Believe it or not I was horrible at math in school...LOL!
