Thank you Thank you Thank You for the love, hugs, gifts and cards that I have received since my mom's passing. I have heard from so many wonderful people. As we have the service tomorrow and the luncheon after, please know my family and I can feel your love and support.
It was a week of adjusting for me...trying to create a new norm for Lady and myself. Poor Lady, she is so discombobulated. Just wanders the house from one room to another. She will look up and bark or run to the window and look out. She is sleeping more and cuddling more. Some of her routine has been disrupted, yet she knows when it's time for her treats...LOL!
They came on Monday and took away all the medical equipment and oxygen tanks. So much space was created because there was equipment stored in several rooms. I rearranged a bit and will work on it slowly. I sorted through a closet or two and donated quite a few items. I have some stuff that will eventually go to the animal rescue. It was weird for me not to be doing laundry every day. I did a bunch of laundry the beginning of the week to get things in order and then did my own laundry yesterday (need to finish today).
My BFF arrived on Wednesday and it's good to have some company. It feels a bit off to be able to get up and go out. We've had a couple of tasty meals both in the house (I made meatloaf) and out of the house (so many places to try) and I have a few places I want to try over the next few weeks.
I was able to attend group meditation and it was awesome. The energy that surrounds this small group of light warriors is awesome. I was not sure when we started if I would be able to settle my mind, but it was peaceful and restorative. A special thank you for the Angel memory lamp - it's beautiful...I could not believe it when I opened it last night. I have never heard of Memory Lane Lamps, but I am liking them on FB this morning. I hope you have a place where you can settle your mind for even a few minutes.
For those of you asking about what lies ahead for me....to be honest I'm not sure. I'm taking one day at a time. I have lots of options, but first I'll take a little time to settle. I believe that some sort hospice work might be in my future. The only thing I know definitely is my youngest nephew graduates high school in June and we are headed to London shortly after (his gift).
