I have had an awesome week. I am still traveling in Florida and what a great week of new experiences and new people. We finished up in Key West and started north again. We drove up the coast via A1A and the Old Dixie Highway. We passed through some small towns and some gorgeous beach areas. We would stop the car and take a walk along the beach or explore a roadside stand.
We stopped for a night in Vero Beach and had lunch with a friend and her husband. We got to see where they live and understand why they would want to be here for the winter. They treated us to lunch at the resort owned by Gloria Estefan and family. There were no famous people hanging around..lol.
We met some really interesting hard working people. Several were trying to make a new life or starting a new business. They wee very willing to share personal information and make a connection. I have been very busy trying to keep Trip Advisor updated. We kept up our goal of trying to visit locally owned stores, cafes, and restaurants.
We are currently at Disney where the weather was the chilliest we have encountered. I know there are some people lashing right now, but I had to wear fleece today...lol!
Yesterday we went to see the movie American Sniper. I do not if you have seen it but it touched me in so many ways. This is a movie about Chris Kyle the person and how the war impacted him. This movie in no way glorifies war. I had tears in my eyes when it was over and almost every person sat for a few seconds to collect themselves. This movie brought up several emotions in me and memories of the time.
I still have not finished a book or even read more than 10 pages. Guess I'm having too much fun.
My dad finished radiation treatments the other day. He only needed three treatments and then will be monitored every few months. He went to visit my mom every day so he did not disrupt her schedule.
I have so many thoughts going on but nothing is coming together for me to write about. With that in mind, I am going to end here today. I hope you have a good week. Those in the wake of the major snowstorm please take care. Chat soon. Marie
