I was in Philadelphia this morning with my friend Diane as we walked a half marathon. What a gorgeous day for a walk. It was cold there yesterday and windy, but this morning it was beautiful and chilly with hardly any wind. I enjoyed the course as I was able to see parts of Philadelphia that I have never been too. I can say that we finished faster than we did at our last half marathon although I don't have the official time yet. There were over 30,000 participants and it was fabulous. There were cheering sections with music and some dancers set up along the route. Lots of police and volunteers to be sure we were safe and stayed on the course. I think they were surprised when we said good morning or thank you for helping. We did get a fabulous medal and you know it's all about the bling (picture will hopefully show up). I just looked at my pedometer and we have walked 36221 steps today as of 5:42 pm. I can tell you that my legs are a little tight, but I used the stick to work on the muscles and will probably use a foam roller later to help stretch out. Of course, a hot shower and aspirin are also on tap for later and probably and early bed time.
I had a good week last week. I must say time seems to be flying. I did work out every day though - so thank you to Frank for getting me prepared for the half marathon. I got my Thanksgiving cards sent out. I also spend lots of time ordering Christmas presents online and believe it or not they have already arrived. I must admit I love when I come home and there is a package. I also got some year end paperwork done for my other business. I have more paperwork to do, but I decided not to wait until January and then have to rush around. What about you? How did you spend your week?
My mom seems to be doing really well. She is participating in physical therapy and seems to be doing well with it. She will always need help, but if we can her up now and then with a walker it would be a good thing. My dad is having some health issues of his own and being the strong man that he is, will deal with them. There are some appointments scheduled for him when I go back to Massachusetts in December.
I attended a Weight Loss Group Meeting on Tuesday and although I was originally not going to attend, I am so glad I did. It was so good to see the people I have become friends with and see how they are doing. Also great to meet so many new people are attending. had a great night with the Bunco Babes on Wednesday. It was good for me because I was the big winner. It was so nice to connect and catch up with the Babes since I have been out of town so much. A great group of ladies to hang out with. I also had dinner the other night with a former work mate....we had a good time catching up before the holidays. Do you have people you like to connect with? How are you connecting with others?
With Thanksgiving approaching, I want to say I am thankful to all of you that read my blog and follow what's going on with me. I also am thankful for those that come to me for coaching. I am blessed by having a wonderful family and friends that mean so much to me. I hope you can express your thankfulness either in person or via phone/message.
I am going to end it here today as I feel myself getting very tired. I hope you have a good week. Happy Thanksgiving! Take care. Chat soon. Marie
