What a week it has been in America. Again, to me it does not matter who you voted for, the fact that we have a peaceful transfer of power is so important. I did not watch as much of the ceremony as I had other things going on, but I so enjoy the pomp and circumstance. I remember years ago, I cried when I realized the president takes the same oath of office that I did upon becoming a federal employee. I also remember when I facilitated the orientation class and was present for new employees taking the oath and each time I was overcome with emotion. The oath to me is so powerful and personal and I hope it is taken seriously by the new administration.
I had an energy massage this past week and I must say I was surprised when as it started, the therapist told me I was surrounded by angelic energy. I thought I wonder what this means overall. I read a fascinating article about angelic energy after: elemental-awakening.com/lightworkers-startup-guide/understanding-energy/understanding-energy-angelic/. So, interesting to say the least. It was funny when the therapist said to me: do you have an uncle Bud? I said, no not that I can think of. She asked the other therapist if she knew any one and she also said no. I guess he popped in for a visit. I kept thinking about uncle Bud and finally just said to myself...get out of here uncle bud you don't belong! When the massage was over the therapists told me that I did not relax for about twenty minutes...I said, that must have been when I told uncle bud to get out of my head! We all laughed about that.
I was thinking over the last couple of weeks of sleep patterns. I know the random things that pop into my mind...LOL! When I worked, I went to bed between 10:30 and 11:00 and woke up at 4:15 - worked all day, then normally worked out after work. When I retired, I decided to sleep in most days until 6:00 (except personal trainer days), but still maintained going to sleep by 11:00 and worked part time. Now, I normally wake up at 6:00 (although many days earlier), get out of bed about 7:00 and then go about my day. I end up going to bed between 11:00 and midnight. I joke that I have not had a nap in almost two years and I used to love my power naps. It seems to me that I'm more tired now then I was all those days of working. What about you? Notice any changes to your sleeping pattern? What do you do when you feel tired?
Mema had a good week and was eating a bit better. She was in bed a bit more, but it's to be expected. Papa had a good week as he used the cane more. He is having some back issues, but he believes they are muscular and using heat and such to help. He has not been to PT since Wednesday due to other appointments, but I'm hoping this week they can help stretch him out a bit more as that always seems to help.
I had a little bit of free time this past week and went to the movies. I saw: "Patriots Day" I thought it was very well done. I chuckled a few times, I shed a few tears, I felt the story was told the right way. Of course, there were lots of "F" bombs, but I was expecting that. I did hear an older woman say on the way out that she tried to count them, but lost track and I just laughed. There are several movies out I want to see, let's see if I can find the time.
I finally finished a book: "Love In The Time of Cholera" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I won't say I loved this book as it took me quite a while to read it. The overall story is lifelong love story and how life interfered. I don't think I would have normally picked up this book, but last year I found a list of books we should all read and I purchased most of them. Now for a couple of weeks of reading murder and mayhem!
I'm going to leave it here for today. Have to start prepping for dinner as I'm trying a new recipe - we'll see how it goes. I hope you have a good week. Take care. Chat soon.
