I provided lots of pictures and funny stories on my personal FB page this past week as the Nor'easter raged. I hope those friends of mine around the world enjoyed as I tried to make you smile. I try to stay on the positive side of things and learn something whether about me or someone else.
Overall, my week went fine as I got some preparations done for my mom's homecoming. The medical equipment arrives Monday morning and mom will be transported in the afternoon. I picked up a few items to brighten up the room and keep her comfortable. Still working to finalize schedules for help to come in, but I have faith it will all work out. I don't need help for hours and hours per day and that's how some people work, I just need help with certain things. As I said it will all work out. I will admit I'm a little nervous about this whole process, but my conviction that I'm doing the right thing wipes out the nerves.
My elderly neighbor I write about cracks me up. He stopped me yesterday to chat about happenings in the development - he knows everyone! He tries to take care of many people and he knows I want to help when I can. He said to me, if you need any help with your mother you let me know. I joked that he could do my grocery shopping. He said, "give me the list." I said, no problem I'll let you know. He is a tough codger with a huge heart. He made me laugh when he grilled me on whether or not I was having corned beef and cabbage at some point this weekend. I said no I'm not cooking or going out for that. (I did not tell him that I'm not a huge fan of corned beef - but I love the veggies.) He said his family is having a big feast today and he'd bring me leftovers if there are any. As he drove away, he said, your father will turn over in his grave if you don't have Irish food this time of year. We both laughed as he knew my father made it for many years.
As many of you know I have been studying and learning about energies, crystals, stones, cards, etc. I was going to contact my energy person to come cleanse my house, but I decided to put some of my learning to work. I followed the ritual for home cleansing and protection. I'm not too sure Lady appreciated the smell of the sage as she watched me closely go from room-to-room. Have you tried any energy work? What do you think?
My BFF arrived yesterday for a couple of weeks. She will be a tremendous help. So good to have company and someone to talk to besides Lady. Of course, I started this blog a while ago and keep getting interrupted...LOL! I got up to help with something and now Lady is snoozing in my chair...LOL!
I have not finished any books lately except a couple of James Patterson murder books. I did catch up on a few old movies on the DVR. What are you reading?
I know spring is coming some day. I hope you are feeling a bit of spring where you are. I am going to leave it here today. Time for a second cup of coffee and breakfast. I hope you have a good week. Take care. Chat soon. Marie
