Overall we had a good week here in Plymouth. My mom seems to be in a good place and jovial. She is definitely not getting out of bed as much, but I am so happy on the days she will. Chaplain Jim came from hospice to play the guitar and sing and my mom was quite animated. Chaplain Jim visited my mom in the nursing home and since she has been home comes about every two weeks. It was great this past week to see my mom alert and singing a little bit - the last couple of visits she was mainly slept. I think Chaplain Jim left quite happy and content as well.
Lots of crazy dreams and broken sleep. My mom has taken to waking me two or three times a night. Some nights needs some freshening up and some nights seems to just want a little company. Even during the day when she wants a little attention she will hum very loudly to be sure I hear her. Or she'll do her famous "yoohoo" to get my attention - I know she's pretty serious when she gets to this point. No worries she still snarls at me as well.
Lots of energy and emotions swirling last week. August is a month of huge energy shifts. Between the cosmic energy shifts, seven planets in retrograde and the storms here..talk about swirling and headaches. Luckily, I had group meditation Thursday and it helped clear me in so many ways.
I joke on FB that I have Saturday night date night at Market Basket (local grocery store). Well, I laughed out loud last night when the young man bagging looked directly at me and said, "nice to see you again!" I had not heard him say that to others in line so I guess he recognized me. I told him and the cashier that it was my date night and we all laughed. We had a little bit of idle conversation and then on my way out he said, "see you next week, come to my line." I guess I made an impression on someone.
Have you started planning your fall TV schedule? I am caught up in a couple of summer shows - always seems the summer is the time when I watch things I would not normally watch, but I am glad that there are new shows to watch instead of repeats repeats repeats. Watching: American Woman, The Sinner, Shooter, Cold Justice, Navy Seals, Chesapeake Shores, Ultimate Summer Cook-Off, Kids Baking Championship, World of Dance and So You Think You can Dance. I know such an eclectic list and there are probably a few others. Thank goodness for the DVR as I save and watch when I can.
I did a little reading over the week, but not as much as I wanted to. I carry one everywhere (just in case I have a minute) - I was able to read for about 45 minutes yesterday while I waited at the hairdresser. I ordered several of the books that were recommended during the book challenge so my pile is a bit higher. I guess I need to stop playing solitaire and get some reading done...LOL!
I am going to try to remember to list the daily and wacky holidays for the week...provides something lighthearted to think about:
12 Middle Child's Day
13 Left Hander's Day
14 National Creamsicle Day
14/15 V-J Day - both days recognized
15 Relaxation Day -
16 National Tell a Joke Day
17 Chinese Valentine's Day/Daughter's Day - 7th day of 7th Lunar Month
17 National Thriftshop Day
18 Bad Poetry Day
18 National Honey Bee Awareness Day
I am going to leave it here for today, time to get mom ready for the day. I hope you have a wonderful week filled with smiles. Take care. Chat soon. Marie
