The week started out on a high note with the Patriots winning the Super Bowl. Although it was not a very exciting game, the Patriots won! I also watched the puppy bowl...can't help it they just make me smile. We munched on queso, 5-layer dip and chips. I can't remember eating much else that day...LOL! I will say that although I love Maroon 5, I did not care for the half time show much. I guess I'm a prude in some ways as I don't need the bleeping and stripping for what is supposed to be entertainment. I did not go to the parade on Tuesday (me and over a million people jammed onto the streets of Boston...I don't think so), but I did watch some of it on TV.
I did get some business taken care of over the past week as well as cleaned out some old papers. The shredder was working OT. Picked up papers at the funeral home and had a lovely discussions with the administrator about her prior career in nursing homes and hospice care. We spoke about some of the learning experiences and certifications I've received over the past few years. I also brought in my mom's taxes to get completed - not much to have done, but want to be sure all l's are dotted and T's are crossed. In many ways, I'm still running on numb, but those small steps are definitely helping.
I would like to thank all of those who sent cards, notes, emails, flowers, donations, etc. I have written out many thank you cards (not sent yet), but there always seems to be someone I miss along the way. I have felted surrounded by love and lifted by all of you.
Lady is feeling better. Still confused by all that is happening, especially when I start cleaning out something or moving things around. She is even getting a little better about her medicine...LOL! She was groomed this past week and looked pretty with her heart neckerchief when I picked her up. She left it on longer than she has in the past.
I was called by a neighbor last week (got my name from another neighbor) and she asked for a ride to work as her car was in the shop and she could not afford to pick it up. It's amazing how life works, I published a year and half ago in the little newsletter that I would be willing to help neighbors with rides and such and someone kept it. I was able to help her out with rides on three separate occasions over the past few days - I think she is shocked that I have not asked for money or something. I know there are people in the community that will charge for rides. If I'm available and it's local, I don't mind helping out. Keeps me out of trouble...LOL!
Earlier this morning I finished reading: "BENEATH THE SCARLET SKY" by Mark Sullivan. It's centered around a young Italian unknown hero of World War II. An excellent read. It was recommended during the FB challenge (another great read).
