We hired a small company to move furniture around to clear out the living room for renovation. Some of the materials are to arrive this coming week. Our living room echoes now without furniture. We are living in the dining room with recliners and TV trays. We are cozy and content for now. We do hear as much street noise from the dining room. The couch is in the den area and available for napping as needed...LOL! We will hire the same company when the work is complete to move everything back.
I hope everyone got to enjoy a bit of family and/or friend time on Thanksgiving and was able to enjoy a good meal. I'm sure there was something in your life to be thankful for. I did cook a small dinner - turkey breast, pre-cooked mashed potatoes (I doctor them up), stuffing, and cranberry sauce (yes from the can). The meal was very good (enough for leftovers) and then I took an hour and a half nap. We watched a bit of football and just relaxed.
Did you go Black Friday Shopping? I do not do the early hours and such, but ended up going to a furniture store late morning and could not believe how crowded/busy it was. I purchased a power lift/recliner chair. Because of my joint issues and lack of strength, I have not been able to put my recliner back and have sat straight up with my knees bent or laid on the couch for the past year. The current one has been around a bit so much of the support is gone. I do have difficulty sometimes standing up without putting extra pressure on hands/arms. With the Black Friday sales...it was time to purchase. It should be delivered next week.
I try to shop local when I can, but this year I do not have the energy to go to the local holiday markets and such. I have checked a few of the local businesses online to purchase and have shipped. I'll support where I can and buy gift cards for the rest, but holiday gift buying will get done.
Believe it or not, my address excel spreadsheet was found. My BFF remembered there was another laptop that we had not destroyed. She brought it up and found the missing lists. I'm back in business for holiday cards....phew that takes a weight off. I'm great at researching and hunting down most things, but I was afraid the cards would not get done if I could not find the addresses. Now to work on them.
This past week I finished reading: "THE LOST" by Jeffrey B. Burton - a Mace Reid K-9 mystery. "TURKISH TRIANGLE by Bill Rapp - a Cold War Thriller. Of course, I watched quite a few Xmas movies and holiday themed food shows.
